Hi, Johnston family! My name is Lori Etheridge, and I am so happy to be a Johnston Jaguar! I am a native of North Carolina, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. After moving to Georgia, I earned a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction from Piedmont College, an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Berry College. I am currently working toward a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Over the years, I have enjoyed a wide range of career experiences, including time as a general education teacher in North Carolina. After moving to Georgia, I spent several years as a special education teacher at Liberty Elementary followed by seven years in school administration. I served as the assistant principal of Mountain Road Elementary for five years and most recently served as an assistant principal at Boston Elementary.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I love to travel and spend time outdoors! I have two wonderful children named Luke and Claire who both graduated from Cherokee County Schools. Claire is currently working on a school counseling degree, and Luke has his own business.

I look forward to working with each member of the Johnston community to build relationships, foster an engaging learning environment, and support student growth. Johnston’s mission is to support students in becoming lifelong learners and problem solvers who set challenging goals, persevere, and dream big, and I am excited to support that mission!

Hello! I am delighted to be the Assistant Principal at Johnston Elementary School this year will be my fourth year with the Johnston family.  I am a Cherokee County resident and even attended Johnston as a student. I have two amazing children. One is a sophomore at The University of Tennessee and the other one is a sophomore at Woodstock High School. I look forward to building relationships as well as supporting teachers and students during this upcoming school year.

I graduated from Sequoyah High School and attended Reinhart College, before transferring to Breanu University to complete my Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. After graduating I began my career in Gwinnett County teaching special education and first grade before moving back home to Cherokee County.

In 2001, I was hired at Bascomb Elementary where I taught for 15 years in multiple grade levels, which included first, second, and third grades. While at Bascomb, I earned my master's degree at Kennesaw State University in Early Childhood Education as well as my Specialist degree in curriculum from Piedmont College. Five years ago, I decided to move to my home school and began a short one-year career at Woodstock Elementary before moving to the role as an Instructional Lead Strategist at Knox STEM Academy. During my four years at Knox, I completed my specialist degree in administration from Berry College.

My return to Johnston fills me with excitement and joy. My goal is for the students to leave with vivid memories and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
